Accommodation Italy
The idea behind "Accommodation Italy", comes from one of the most sought-after questions from the visitors to the Bel Paese.
Knowing what’s in the place you are visiting, what to see, feel, hear, eat, drink, experience is definitely one of the reasons that drove you to take your bag and fill it with everything that your tourist's spirit (and body) needs.
This is one
BIG step. But some
details are still to sort out.
"Accommodation Italy" is not about booking a plane: this is easy to do already, you can comfortably do it online. Seldom do we regret the decision since, mainly based on price, we know that we can expect more or less a similar level of treatment, caring and quality of service. Let’s be honest, when planning a trip the flight is possibly seen as a commodity.
Oh yeah, there will surely be flyers that are very attentive to every detail and that will only fly business or first class… but I would argue that even for this people the flight is not the essential part in a trip or vacation.
Honestly, when I say that choosing an airline or another really is simply a matter of either personal preference or "fee", I also mean that this choice is perhaps the least relevant to our overall tourist experience.
Why? You’d ask.
The first and foremost reason I am saying this is because at the moment you resolute to go somewhere, the very fraction of a second that takes your mind to tell you “I WANT to go to Italy”, you’re NOT thinking about the airline that will take you there.
"Accommodation Italy" sparks from the concept that you want to go to Italy to feel it and live, even if only for a short period, the Italian way; you desire to see the places, to walk them, experience the past in the present and taste it, this and everything that will make this Italian experience worth, do what the very Italians would do in their places.
Getting there? Necessary, no question about it; but not nearly as important as what you will get once you get there.
At that very moment, in fact, your mind will be comparing what you see and feel with what you thought (or were told) you would find.
A welcoming, central hotel from one of the most famous chains worldwide can help you make your experience more similar to those that you already had: this is one of the successes of these chains in past times. They pretty much offer standard quality, with standard accommodations at standard prices and with standard service.
Are you a STANDARD person? I don’t think so.
For one thing, you are reading Italian-Traditions.Com because here you can find the big and small NON STANDARD things that make Italy Italy and "Accommodation Italy" let's you find those things.
Secondly, who wants to be standard?
Would you be happy with a standard experience? And whose standard would that be?
We want more because we ARE more.
So, how can WE get more then?
It’s definitely NOT a mere question of research.
For as many resources as there are out there on the Internet and for as thorough as your research can be, sure you are going to find a plethora of web pages from hostels, B&B, inns, hotels, pensions and so on, which promise the best they can offer… but do they offer the best that the territory can offer?
This is the reason why sites like Tripadvisor are so popular: we simply do not TRUST the offers we see on a web page, until either we experience their truthfulness or somebody else does and gives her/his blessing.
Even here, though, a simple issue comes to the surface: every person would give her/his own evaluation of the experience, and this not only because everyone’s experience is inevitably different, in a way or the other, but even more because each of us values, observes and, at the end, appreciates different things.
So, the biggest bias from these kind of sites is that they, simply, CANNOT be fully objective: how could they be?
Their proposition is to offer reviews compared, again, to a set of standard (even though key) parameters. So, you can expect them to be “objective” compared to those parameters.
Would you trust uniquely and out of sheer faith the series of reviews for one B&B going through the details of how the room is furnished and how the hosts were kind? Maybe you would, and that would probably be a good thing. People are not lying or making statements to increase the hype (…ok, some might be), but simply sharing their vision and their experience.
But who is going to tell you that what pleased others will also please YOU?
Well, this is easy: only your own judgment can help you there.
But how in the world (you now ask) can my judgment help me evaluate if I have never been there??
This I will tell you: you can go to tripadvisor and read about the experiences from the people that “have been there” and “have done that” already, but what they like might NOT be what YOU like (or how much you like it).
The same you will be able to do here at "Accommodation Italy" within Italian-Traditions.Com, but there’s more to it.
"Accommodation Italy" gives you, unbiased, the vision and accurate report on how well the various places rank in the “Italianness” score, that is, from an Italian standpoint: a close look at all those elements that will enhance your experience of Italy and its traditions.
"Accommodation Italy" is not just about giving you information or posting another review page: this is about helping and being helped.
Have a question about a specific B&B?
Want to know the best places to sleep and be accommodated feeling the typical italian traditions?
Have a “special” request for some place already, but do not know how to “get it there”?
Write it here!
It is as easy as that.
From your description of a place that you consider in line (or less so) with our interests here at Italian-Traditions.Com, to a request for help or suggestion: use "Accommodation Italy". The only limit here is the imagination.
