It will also be a good opportunity to visit the delightful town of Longarone, sadly known for the Vajont catastrophe that in 1963 completely swept the town away.
The origins of the International Ice Cream show
The first edition of the Ice Cream Exhibition dates back to 1959, organized by the locals, and at that time it had only eighteen exhibitors…
Longarone was once the meeting point for ice-cream makers from the Zoldo Valley and the Cadore, who would return home during the winter after having worked in ice-cream shops around Europe. After being hit by the tremendous flood that struck this and other towns in the area, the fair gained an increasingly important role.Did you know that today it has become a qualified meeting place for ice-cream makers from all over the world? That’s right: the proof is in the thirty thousand annual visitors!
What to see at the Ice Cream fair in Longarone
Inside the pavilion dedicated to the most important fairs, located at the Longarone Exhibition Center, there will be over 200 exhibitors that will allow you to discover all the latest news about ice cream. Just think that on a surface of about 17 thousand square meters there will be numerous stands of made in Italy and international ice cream, dedicated to the entrepreneurs of the sector and not only… It will be great to find out what products are being made, the equipment and accessories used for production and sale… so many really interesting things that shouldn’t be missed. But that’s not all… this year’s program will focus on typical products, natural tastes, organic lines and food intolerances.
Believe me if I tell you that it will be an important experience both for visitors and for the industry and a unique opportunity to learn the art of Italian and foreign ice cream.
