To find really fine, genuine, traditional restaurants in Italy is a never ending endeavor, for me and all those (Italian and non) who are at the perennial research of the surprising, yet affordable, experiences that make italian gastronomy and gastronomic culture something special and unique around the globe.
So I have finally decided to open up this section, where I am going to tell you about the BEST (for me) restaurants around Italy.
We (you and me) are NOT interested in a sub-par experience, so it will be my own goal to only share with my acquaintance with places that, in a way or the other, have given me something special.
Yes of course, food is important, but it's not the only factor I have in mind when considering how good (or how bad!) my experience has been.
Variety, use of traditional, genuine ingredients, traditional italian recipes, culinary creativity, the specific location, the atmosphere... and the price (!) are all elements that, aware or not, I always weight altogether.
Here we go then, with a list of my own personal favorites,
the best restaurants I have found so far, from all over Italy.
Naturally, being a curious (and hedonistic) individual, I am always attracted by new places: I ask you, then, to help me as well add to the list below and let me have also YOUR comments about italian restaurants that may or may not have already been reported in these pages.
Amazing Restaurants... From All Over Italy!
This Trattoria bears a meaningful name.
"Il Coccetto" (Italian for "small pot shard") evokes the ceramics tradition of the place where it is located, the Comune di Vasanello, right under the shade of its major landmark, the Castello Orsini.
With a wide offer of both land- and seafood, I decided to opt for a full seafood menu.
And my expectations have been greatly exceeded!
